Wheel Reconditioning
You've got a significant investment in your wheels. To protect your investment and keep your fleet looking like new, let us refurbish your steel wheels.
Powdercoating
What is powdercoating? It's a more advanced method of applying a new finish to a steel wheel. Powdercoating provides our customers with a durable finish which resists cracking, peeling, fading, or marring. Powdercoating offers excellent uniformity without sags, drips, or other surface irregularities. Powdercoating provides a longer lasting finish and far more superior than other organic coatings.
Our Process
Remove - We remove all old wheel weights and valve stems.
Powerwash - An industrial strength powerwasher is then used to remove any road grime and grease that may still be on the wheel.
Inspection - We check for obvious cracking and other defects that would render the wheel unuseable. The bolt holes are checked for runout.
Sandblast - The wheel is then inserted into a machine that rotates the wheel while sandblasting it down to bare metal. This ensures that all of the old paint is removed throughly.
Reinspection - Now that we're down to bare metal, we can spot even the smallest of cracks at this point. The wheel is now moved onto our monorail system. It ensures that the wheel stays clean before it is powdercoated.
Powdercoating - The powdercoat is then applied.
Curing - The wheel is then moved down our monorail to the oven. The wheel spends about 15 minutes curing inside a 1200 degree oven.
Final Inspection - A final lookover is preformed. New valve stems are installed before leaving the door.
